What type of questions you shouldn’t ask an interviewer during a job interview.  This post will share some of the flaky questions that we have heard during an interview.  These questions were either odd or irrelevant to the job opportunity, resulting in the elimination of the candidate.  Most hiring managers enjoy discussing the candidate’s questions, especially when they are engaging and applicable to the job.  We can certainly provide plenty of advice on what to ask, but we’ll keep that for a future post.  For now, let’s start with the seven questions that you shouldn’t ask in your next interview:

  1. What does your company exactly do?

  2. How rigorous are your background checks?

  3. Do you have any other open opportunities?

  4. When can I take a vacation after my start date?

  5. How challenging is your team?

  6. What do you think of my skills?

  7. How bad is workplace politics at this organization?
