Case Study: State Project - Licensing
State Licenses: Automating Applications with LWC
Goal:
This state’s agencies needed to update their online portals for social services licensing to improve performance and usability.
Overview:
State agencies have been using online portals to manage public service licenses, including licenses to operate childcare and early learning programs and the state’s medical marijuana control program. These portals were initially built as Salesforce applications, but they had become outdated as web technology continued to evolve. The portals needed to be updated to make them more efficient and to deliver a better user experience.
Process and Solution:
The state agency engaged WadiTek to update the existing licensing portals using Salesforce Lightning Web Components (LWC). The workflows and process builder functions were retired during the project, and new workflows using Apex classes and triggers were implemented. The new user interfaces built using LCW were designed to create a better user experience without disrupting back-end processes.
Outcome:
The new licensing portals provide better performance and make it easier for licensees to communicate with state departments. State employees can also easily track requests and tasks as part of back-office processes.
